Para Site has launched PS Paid Studio Visits and the Hong Kong Collective Independent Art Spaces Fundraiser, two initiatives to aid the Hong Kong arts community in its recovery from the impact of Covid-19.
In the wake of the outbreak of Covid-19 much of the economic infrastructure supporting artists’ and independent art spaces livelihoods has come to an indefinite standstill. In response to these uncertain times Para Site is focusing its resources on supporting Hong Kong artists and developing longer-term collaborations that support and strengthen connectivity within the Hong Kong independent art institutions community.
PS Paid Studio Visits
PS Paid Studio Visits is a new series of in-person and virtual studio visits that will enable members of the public, as well as arts professionals worldwide, direct access to Hong Kong artists’ studios through up close and personal in-person visits, virtual tours and pre-recorded videos that will be made available on Para Site’s website and social media channels for those unable to tune in live. Over 60 Hong Kong artists are taking part in the series and will receive an artist fee as well as one-month health insurance coverage in exchange for this unique behind the scenes insight into their working environment and practices.
Please see full schedule here.
Hong Kong Collective Independent Art Spaces Fundraiser
For a limited time only, the Hong Kong Collective Independent Art Spaces Fundraiser, initiated by Para Site, directly supports 17 Hong Kong-based cultural venues, community projects, and other independent spaces threated by the Covid-19 pandemic. 40 international artists have each designed a special edition A2 poster (HKD400) available for purchase through Para Site’s online shop from which all proceeds will be divided equally between the Hong Kong collective independent art spaces. Produced in an unlimited edition, the posters are available until 21 June 2020 and can be collected in-person at Para Site or delivered for an additional fee.
