Art For Everyone @HKMoA: city-wide art campaign launches late March with engaging AR App

Art For Everyone @HKMoA, the city-wide art campaign that features 100 artwork images from the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) across Hong Kong’s 18 districts launches on 23 March and will run through to 23 May 2021. Introduced by and in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Friends of Hong Kong Museum of Art, the not-for-profit organisation has developed a custom-made augmented reality mobile application (AR App) for the campaign that is set to engage audiences of all ages during what is usually Hong Kong’s arts month

The bilingual AR App “ArtForEveryone.hk” can be downloaded for free via app stores and on the campaign website, allowing the public easy access to the list of artworks, locations and augmented reality (AR) experiences. The AR App allows users to search for locations and find the closest artworks via map view, discover the artwork’s title and artist and activate AR Mode to engage with ten AR-enabled images. This is the first time an AR experience is being rolled out across all of Hong Kong’s 18 districts simultaneously.

With support from over 40 organisations, the Art For Everyone @HKMoA campaign showcases 100 images of artworks from HKMoA on over 380 billboards, digital displays and transport hubs, in public outdoor and indoor spaces. Commuters can engage with all the 100 artworks images from the campaign across all 97 MTR stations with support from Art in MTR. Selected display locations include Star Ferry Pier Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai, and selected tram shelters. The complete set of AR artworks can be viewed in seven shopping malls from Henderson Land Group, including Kolour at Tsuen Wan and Yuen Long, MCP at Tseung Kwan O, MOStown at Ma On Shan, Shatin Centre at Shatin, Square Mile at Tai Kok Tsui, and Trend Plaza at Tuen Mun.
